"Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate" MU Extension Class
Almost everyone has personal belongings such as wedding photographs, a baseball glove, or a pie plate that contain meaning for them and for other members of their family. What happens to your personal belongings when you die? Who decides who gets what? How can decisions be made during one’s lifetime?
“Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate?” is a program developed several years ago by the Cooperative Extension Service at the University of Minnesota. It was designed to help individuals and families decide how to distribute non-titled assets, your personal belongings.
The division of personal property on an equal basis is sometimes where the main problem lies. What is fair? What is equal? Dollar value? Number of items? Dr. Rebecca Travnichek, Family Financial Education Specialist, with University of Missouri Extension can help you find the answers to these questions.
